** NEWS FLASH ** THIS SITE IS UNDER MAJOR RECONSTRUCTION UNTIL 4 PM ON FEBRUARY 12. PLEASE CHECK BACK.
Since October we have been having weekly "Quilt Studio" nights on WEDNESDAY evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the West Tisbury Library's large Community Room. Here, we have all the space we need to spread out and work on independent or group projects. We are thrilled that our Guild has grown so quickly, and we are grateful to the leadership of the West Tisbury Library for providing us with such a beautiful space to work in.

If you did not get to the Ag Fair and see the award winning quilts created by Members Pam Flam, Mary Ruth Flores, Linda Hearn, Wendy Nierenberg, Jan Paul & Susan Cooke -- click HERE to see photos of their quilts, photos of our booth in the Fiber Tent, photos of children using our design wall to design quilt tops, and, of course, photos of the sheep and alpacas who shared our tent.
If you are new to our site, please accept our INVITATION below:
During the summer we held a series of 'organizational gatherings’ of our newly formed Guild. We were thrilled with the turnout, and by summer's end, we had 20 Founding Members. Since October 1st, we have been meeting for 'Quilting Studios" on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
Potential members are invited to stop by -- with (or without) an individual project to work on-- and join the conversation about the future of the Martha’s Vineyard Modern Quilt Guild.
Please note: Quilters of all kinds and potential quilters are all welcome to help shape the future of this guild. Although our name is the Martha's Vineyard Modern Quilt Guild, it is important to know that our view of 'Modern' is post-1860.
We have twenty-five Founding Members, a 'home' in the West Tisbury Library, a growing list of possible activities and projects, and (drumroll here!) our first group project. We have accelerated our time table. We aren't just talking about the future of this Guild; together, we are creating it.
We are thrilled that the Martha's Vineyard Modern Quilt Guild has grown to so quickly, and we look forward to seeing the direction our group takes. Please join us!

Bring a quilt project to work on -- or help with an iSpy quilt for the Red Stocking Fund.
Wednesday, December 3rd: Our next Wednesday night 'gathering' is WED, December 3rd, from 6 to 8:30 pm at WT Library. Bring a quilt project to work on -- or help with an iSpy quilt, our first 'community gift' project for the Red Stocking Fund.
