The Mission & Guiding Principles of the Martha's Vineyard Modern Quilt Guild

"... to preserve and promote the art and craft of quilting through community and education..."

Our Mission:
Our mission is to preserve and promote the art and craft of quilting through community and education, and to explore the concept of modern quilting through sharing.
Our guiding principles:
We believe in the traditions of quilting that guided the work of earlier generations -- and our own.

We believe that the influence of 'modern quilting,' and being part of a community of quilters, will help ensure that quilting endures.

We believe that all quilters have a place on the continuum of quilt-making.  Katherine suggested that our motto should be: "No quilt is an island."  And we all agreed!

We invite you to join us on this journey.
